PFT speculates Cowboys could rescind franchise tag on Dak Prescott

According to this latest report, the Dallas Cowboys could rescind the franchise tag they placed on quarterback Dak Prescott.

After tagging Prescott, the Cowboys will pay him $31 million. However, after signing former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, it poses the question if the Cowboys would do the unthinkable.

Until Prescott officially accepts the offer, everything is up in the air. According to ProFootballTalk, if the Cowboys rescind the tag, the Cowboys could move on with Dalton as the starter and save $20 million.

While that is highly unlikely, we have seen crazier happen. If Mike McCarthy, who has no history with Prescott, feels more comfortable with Dalton, then he could convince the Cowboys brass to make the move.

If that were to happen, where would Dak go?

The New England Patriots and Jacksonville Jaguars are two teams that come to mind. Then, there are the other teams that could use an upgrade. The Jets could dump Sam Darnold. The Browns could bump Baker Mayfield. What about the Raiders doing away with Derek Carr, or the Redskins ridding themselves from Dwayne Haskins?

What do you think?
