Russell Wilson Has Emotional Farewell Instagram Post for Justin Britt After Seahawks Released Him

Seattle Seahawks QB upset after recent release of this teammate

Russell Wilson has not enjoyed seeing his teammates get cut from the Seattle Seahawks.

In an effort to save money, the Seahawks cut Justin Britt. The center played six seasons with the star quarterback, starting 86 of 96 possible games during that span. He played 93% of the offensive snaps in five seasons, all with Wilson.

Wilson and Britt became close friends, which was evident in Wilson’s post on Instagram after hearing the news that his former teammate would be released.

In life… we all meet people who we get to spend time with and talk life and compete to be the best in the world with… well JB.. thanks for all the focus and hard work and love you brought to the game. You laid it on the line for many years together and I will be forever grateful for your work ethic, passion, and love for the game, but most importantly others. Although I wish we could keep celebrating in the End Zone together and I wish it could be longer, the reality is your best days are ahead of you. Go be who you are destined to be. I’m grateful God put you in my life and I can’t wait to watch the rest of your journey. Love you brother. @justinbritt68 🙏🏾 Love. 3.

This is the second goodbye post Wilson has made in days.

The Seahawks released veteran NFL offensive lineman D.J. Fluker according to his announcement on Twitter.

Fluker, 29, played for the Seahawks for two seasons. He previously spent time with the New York Giants and San Diego Chargers. He played collegiate ball at Alabama where he was one of the best lineman in the game. He was a part of three national championships.

Fluker was the highest paid lineman on the team alongside Suane Brown.Since the Seahawks cut Fluker, the team saved $3.6 million towards the cap. Fluker sent off in the classiest way you could.

“Dear 12s, I was released by the Seahawks today. Couple of things: I am not upset, or hurt. This is a business and one that I’ve been in for a while. I want to thank John and Pete for their very thoughtful calls. Stay safe, be kind and I love y’all. Thank you, Seattle,” he wrote.

Fluker’s departure even gained a message from Wilson on Twitter.

“Fluke!!! Going to miss you bro! Keep bringing the energy. Love you bro!”
