Skip Bayless Reacts To The Cowboys Signing Andy Dalton

Skip Bayless is known for hot takes, so he had to give another when hit came to the Dallas Cowboys’ recent move.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Cowboys will sign former Cincinnati Bengal Andy Dalton to a one-year, $7 million contract.

Dalton was released by the Bengals after the NFL Draft. Dalton, 32, didn’t have to wait long to find a new team. He will back up quarterback Dak Prescott.

Bayless loves the move and he posted his reaction on Twitter.

“Jerry strikes again. Great move signing Andy Dalton, especially in case Dak holds out first couple reg-season games (or puts himself at injury risk by missing preseason). Dalton: 3X PBowler, 4 playoffs. Now Dak can’t hold them over such a big barrel. Maybe lights negotiating fire.”

This was mildly tame for Bayless, which means he really does like the move. He is not the only one.

Newcomer Gerald McCoy is also new to the Cowboys, but the six-time Pro Bowl defensive lineman was a huge fan of the move. The former Oklahoma star took to Twitter to give his reaction to the move.

“Red rifle!! Let’s get it!!” McCoy wrote.

McCoy and Dalton are familiar dating back to their time in college. Dalton played at TCU, which is not too far away from each other. McCoy came into the NFL in 2010, while Dalton entered the league in 2012.

Dalton is a three-time Pro Bowler that threw for a career-high 33 touchdown passes in 2013. If quarterback Dak Prescott were to miss any time, the team would be in good hands. The Cowboys originally had Cooper Rush as the team’s backup, but now the team can feel confident all throughout the season.
