Three cornerbacks that could replace Bashaud Breeland

According to this recent update, cornerback Bashaud Breeland is likely out in Kansas City.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Breeland could miss half of the NFL season.

“#Chiefs CB Bashaud Breeland — who was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including marijuana possession — was already facing a four-game suspension for a separate violation of the substance-abuse policy, sources tell me and @MikeGarafolo. Breeland is appealing.”

As the Chiefs will likely look for a replacement in the next coming weeks, these three options could be a choice.

Tramon Williams-Green Bay Packers

Williams is still strong in coverage even at the age of 37. Williams isn’t a long-term solution, but the Chiefs could fill the void this season and then look to the draft next year. According to ProFootballFocus, Williams was the 11th highest graded cornerback in 2019.

Prince Amukamara-Chicago Bears

Amukamara is another one-year rental that makes sense. The 30-year old was released by the Bears after earning coverage grades above 70 in each of his three seasons with the Bears. That includes a career high 77.1 in 2018. He’s also logged 10 interceptions across his nine-year career.

Logan Ryan-Tennessee Titans

Ryan enjoyed a solid career and two Super Bowl titles with the New England patriots. However, the 29-year old enjoyed success with the Titans last year by posting 113 tackles, 18 pass deflections, four interceptions, and 4.5 sacks. However, it would have to take some convincing by the Chiefs to get Ryan to sign a one-year deal. It would also be the most expensive option.
