VIDEO: Cowboys TE Blake Jarwin Practicing During Quarantine Should Get Fans Excited for His First Season as Starter

Jarwin using backyard to get in peak physical shape

Blake Jarwin knows that he has a lot of pressure, so he is showing off his best self.

All across the country, players have been finding ways to stay in the best possible shape. For Jarwin, his backyard has been his venue. Since Jarwin cannot workout with either Dak Prescott or Andy Dalton, the JUGS machine will have to do the job for now.

Jarwin caught 31 passes for 365 yards and three touchdowns in 2019. The team is hoping he can at least produce what Jason Witten did last year.

When Witten returned in 2019, Jarwin was demoted to a secondary role, but now he gets another shot. Witten signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. Now in his fourth year, Jarwin talked about how he is going to fill the shoes of the former Cowboys legend.

“You’ve got to look at it like it’s just the beginning,” Jarwin said in the interview with ESPN’s Todd Archer. “I’ve still got a lot to prove. That’s another thing I learned from seeing a guy go to work every single day. He’s a 15-to-16-year vet, but he’s still trying to make the team like he’s a rookie. I’m going to hold on to that mindset. I was an undrafted free agent. That’s going to prevent me from ever being content.”

When the Cowboys drafted CeeDee Lamb in the first round, the focus will be put on Prescott to distribute the ball around to everyone. For Jarwin, he appears to be the fourth option on the team.

However, that isn’t stopping him from getting ready.
